hello please explain about inertia of motion

Suppose you are standing in a bus which is moving. Suddenly, the driver applied the brakes to stop. Then You will feel a force like falling if didn't have any support to stand.
It happens because of inertia.
This happened because the bus and you were in motion. When bus stopped suddenly, you were still in motion due to which u feel a pushing force.
