dineshmehta1991: i have considered A and B at corner of trianglular circuit
Anonymous: so i think the question is incomplete as you said
dineshmehta1991: yes
dineshmehta1991: may be
Anonymous: according to your consideration it is 8 / 3
dineshmehta1991: yes if considered my way
Anonymous: yeahh.... but still in confusion ....any way thanks for responding
dineshmehta1991: 12 may not be right ...if can be if circuit is cut
dineshmehta1991: it can be 12 if circuit is cut
Anonymous: yes you are right

hello friend...!!

A)  in the first diagram , upper 3 resistors are in series and bottom 3 resistors are in series therefore ,

let us consider R1 as upper part and R2 as lower part , implies ,

R1 = 1 ohm + 1 ohm + 1 ohm ( in series R = r1 + r2 + r3 )

implies R1 = 3 ohm . similarly R2 = 3 ohm .

R1 AND R2 are parallel therefore the total resistance of diagram ( 1 ) is,

1 / R = 1 / R1 + 1 / R2 .

1 / R = 1 / 3 + 1 / 3 = 2 / 3

implies  R = 3 / 2-----------------------( answer )

B)
in the second diagram the upper two resistors  each of with resistance 4 ohm are in series

therefore ,  R = R1 + R2

R = ( 4 + 4 ) ohm

R = 8 ohm this 8 ohm is parallel with 4 ohm

1 / R = 1 / 4 + 1 / 8 = 3 / 8

R = 8 / 3 --------------------------( answer )

c) in third question ,

let us consider the
first square , where the upper two resistors f each resistace 2 ohm are in series simillarly lower two resistors of each resistace 2 ohm are in series .

therefore
, in the first box , the upper total resistance is

r1 = 2 ohm + 2 ohm = 4 ohm similarly bottom total resistance is equal to 4 ohm

the upper and bottom are parallel

implies , 1 / r = 1 /r1 + 1 / r2 = 1 / 4 + 1 / 4 = 2 / 4

implies r = 4 / 2 = 2 ohm . ---------------( 1 )

similarly  in the second square box the total resistance is 2 ohm ----( 2 )

the third resistor = 2 ohm -----------( 3 )

equation 1 & 2 & 3 are three reistors that are series therefore

R = ( 2 + 2 + 2 ) ohm

R = 6 ohm------------------------( answer )

D) in 4th question ,

let us solve the upper part first ,

where the each resistor of resistance 2 ohm are parallel .

so 1 / r = 1 / r1 + 1 / r2 = 1 / 2 + 1 / 2 = 2 / 2

implies , r = 2 / 2 = 1  ohm ---------( 1 ) { RIGHT HAND SIDE}

similarly r = 1 ohm ------------------( 2 ) { LEFT HAND SIDE }

here equation ( 1 ) and equation ( 2) are series .

so ,  R 1 = 1 ohm + 1 ohm = 2 ohm-----------------( 3) { COMPLETE UPPER PART }

similarly the total resistance in the complete lower part is

R 2 = 2 ohm----------------( 4 ) { COMPLETE LOWER PART }

equation (3 ) and ( 4 ) are parallel in nature therefore ,

1 / R = 1/ R1 + 1 / R2

1 / R = 1 / 2 + 1 / 2 = 2 / 2

R = 1 ohm -----------------------------------( answer )

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

therefore for

 first diagram R = 3 / 2 OHM

second diagram R = 8 /3 OHM

third diagram R = 6 OHM

fourth diagram R = 1 OHM .

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

hope it helps...!!!
