DNA exists in Chromatin form in the nucleus

The chromatin condenses to form Chromosomes during cell division.

The chromatin in the nucleus forms a 'beads-on-string' structure or Nucleosome

The 'beads' are octamer histone proteins and the 'string' is the double-stranded DNA.

Chromatin is the DNA and proteins that make up chromosomes. Chromosomes are the separate 'pieces' of DNA in a cell (made up of chromatin). Sister chromatids are identical pieces of DNA held together by a centromere and pulled apart during cell division to make new identical chromosomes in the newly made cells.
