Area of room=length * breadth

=3*4

=12

Area of one tile =0.5*0.5

=0.25

number of tiles is given by the formula,

number=area of room/area of one tile

So,

Number= 12/0.25=48

Thus 48 tiles will be used to cover an entire floor.
