hello ppl!

A weightlifter can lift 90 kg mass on the surface of the earth. How much mass can he lift on the moon? The acceleration due to gravity on the earth is 9.8m/s^2 and that on the moon is 1.67m/s^2.

Hello your answer

60 kg on the earth surface weigh about 590N.

  • That's the force he can exert, which is what matters.
  • On the Moon, with gravity 1.622 m/s^2, 590N corresponds to about 363kg.

i hope it helps...thank you ..

Hi mate here is ur query..

•••••••••••••••••

As we know the weight is directly proportional to the gravitational force.

since it left mass 90 kg on earth

then weight (force) =90*9.81 N force can bear

let g1=acceleration due to earth

g2= acceleration due to moon

w1=weight on earth

&w2= weight on moon

hence Force bears on earth=882.9N

hence force bears on moon will be same

hence M *g2 = 882.9 N

or M = 882.9/1.67

or M= 528.68 kg

*528.68 kgmass it can lift on the moon.

Hope you would like it .

Good luck!!
