Melting Points

  • Solid Water (Ice) : 0°C
  • Ethyl Alcohol (Ethanol) : – 114°C
  • Diethyl Ether (Ether) : – 116°C
  • Methane : - 182°C

Stable Covalent Compounds

Stable Covalent Compounds have low melting and boiling points because they can break on very less amount of heat energy.

Covalent Compounds like Methane, Ether and Ethanol have - degrees melting point temperature and hence have less intermolecular force of attraction with less stability.

However, Ice (Solid water) at 0°C melts which is comparatively more than rest 3. Hence it's have more stability and more intermolecular force of attraction.
