Answer:

New speed = 10 cm/s

New acceleration = 10 cm/s²

Step by step explanations :

since the turn table rotates uniformly hence all the surfaces on the table have the same angular velocity( although the linear velocity of the particle will be different as they move in circle of different radii )

also

since the speed of any particle do not change with time hence tangential acceleration will always zero so initially particle is kept fixed distance 2r from the centre of the table and later it is shifted to a location r

since the linear velocity in both cases are same

so,

we can write ,

w = (20 cm/s)/2r

= v'/r

This gives v' = 10 cm/s

which is the speed in second case

also acceleration in the second case is given to be 20 cm/s²

.'. By ar = v²/r

we get,

20 cm/s² = {(20 cm/s)²}/2r

r = 10 cm

acceleration in the second case,

a' = v'²/r

putting the values,

a' = 10²/10

a' = 100/10

a' = 10 cm/s²

so,

New speed = 10 cm/s

New acceleration = 10 cm/s²
