Lets divide this figure in 4 parts nd we are just going to calculate the shaded region of 1 part .
In small square, side is 14
area of square = 14 x 14 = 196 cm²
now , there is a quadrant in each square,
Area of quadrant = π r² 90/360
3.14 x 14 x 14 x 90/360
615.44 ÷ 4
= 153.86 cm²
Now there is another small semi Circle in each small square,
Area of semi circle = π r² ÷ 2
Radius of small circle = 7cm
3.14 x 7 x7 ÷ 2
153.86 ÷ 2 = 76.93cm²
Subtract the area of small semi circle from area of quadrant
153.86 - 76.93 = 76.93 cm²
Now, there are 4 shaded regions,
76.93 x 4 = 307.72cm²

76.93 x 4 = 307.72cm²
