The primary difference between the two is that Thermoset is a material that strengthens when heated, but cannot be remolded or heated after the initial forming, while thermoplastics can be reheated, remolded, and cooled as necessary without causing any chemical changes.

★ Such plastic which gets deformed easily on heating are known as thermoplastic.
★ Such plastic which gets bend easily are known as thermoplastic
★ These have low melting point.
★ Example are PVC and polythene.
- Thermo-setting plastic:
★ Such plastic which gets moulded once are known as thermosetting plastic.
★ Such plastic which cannot bend are known as thermosetting plastic
★ These have high melting point.
★ Examples are Melamine and Bakelite.
