What is the difference between Action Spectra and absorption spectra

From what I read, absorption spectrum refers to the set of wavelengths a molecule can absorb. Action spectrum refers to that subset of the absorption spectrum the molecule uses to perform a physiological process.

E.g. chlorophyll can absorb in the microwave part of the spectrum. But it uses only the red and blue part of the spectrum for photosynthesis.
