b→ hard water is water that has high mineral content. hard water is formed when water flows through deposits of limestone and chalk.

c→ Temporary hardness is caused by dissolved calcium hydrogencarbonate and it can be removed by boiling.

d→ permanent hardness in water is hardness due to the presence of chlorides,nitrates and sulphates of calcium and magnesium which can not be precipitated by boiling.
