Question :-

Factorize :- \bold {x^2 - 15x - 76}

Solution :-

By 'Splitting the Middle Term',

ab = (- 76x²) and a + b = (- 15x)

a = + 4x and b = (- 19x)

-

\begin {aligned} \bold {x^2 - 15x - 76} & = x^2 + 4x - 19x - 76\\\\& \Rightarrow x (x + 4) - 19 (x + 4) \\\\& = \bold {(x - 19)(x + 4)} \end {aligned}

∴ The Factorized Form of \bold {x^2 - 15x - 76} is \bold {(x - 19) (x + 4)} ...
