I know the answer but I want to know the process.

Lakshmi is trying to throw basketballs through hoops at a fair. If a ball goes through a hoop, she receives 50p, but if it does not she has to pay 20p for the shot. After 15 shots, Lakshmi finds she has made a profit of £1.20. How many times did Lakshmi successfully throw a ball through a hoop?

Answer:

Lets imagine that she had made profit of 2.00 rupees . so if 50p per each successful attempt then she had threw 4 times the ball ( 200p/50p)

but we see that she won 1.2p rupees . so lets devide 20p from 2.00-1.20 = 0.80p and 0.80/20 =4 .

So she had threw the ball 4 times in the hoop successfully and 4 times missed it .
