Momentum P=Mv

= Mass x velocity

If object is stationary , the velocity will be zero ⇒ Momentum is also zero.

So momentum is only possible in moving objects and not for stationary ones

momentum is the product of mass and velocity. Velocity is the rate of change of speed. If speed is 0 i.e object is at rest, velocity will be zero and subsequently, momentum will be zero as well because mass *0 velocity= 0 momentum. In other words momentum and velocity are directly proportional.
