Answer: 88 cm. (C)

Explanation:

Given that, diameter of circular pattern = 28 cm.

∴ Radius = d/2 = 28/2 cm = 14 cm.

Here, perimeter of shaded region = Semi-perimeter of the big circle + 2(Semi-perimeter of the small, congruent circles.)

= ½(2πR) + 2[½(2πr)]

{Small circles are same or congruent as radius are equal. Semi-perimeter means half of the perimeter and R = radius of bigger circle = 14 cm. r = R/2 = 7 cm.}

= πR + 2πr

= 22/7 × 14 cm + 2 × 22/7 × 7 cm

= 44 cm + 44 cm

= 88 cm.

Point to keep in mind: Perimeter = measurement of the boundary.
