HELP ME

1 )Are limiting factors positive, negative, or both for an ecosystem? Explain your
reasoning.

2) A new species of mussel has been discovered in a small lake in Tennessee. The mussel has no known predators in the lake and has been reproducing rapidly. Due to their large population size, the population of their food source, phytoplankton, has significantly decreased.
Explain one other possible effect this invasive species might have on the lake’s
ecosystem.

3) Based on what you know about Physical, Chemical, and Biological Controls, design and explain a possible solution for how to eradicate, or greatly reduce this new mussel’s population.

4) Explain how the limiting factors water and sunlight could control the rate (how fast) at which an ecosystem moves through the stages of succession.

Answer:

1) A limiting factor is anything that constrains a population's size and slows or stops it from growing. Some examples of limiting factors are biotic, like food, mates, and competition with other organisms for resources.
