Answer:

A/Q;

           CASE 1

L=B+9

B=B

Ar=L*B= (B+9)*B

           CASE 2

L=B+9+3= B+12

B=B+3

Ar= (B+12)(B+3)

=  (B+9)*B+84 = (B+12)(B+3)

= B^2+9B+84 = B^2+3B+12B+36

= 9B +84= 15B+36

= 84-36 = 15B-9B

= 48 = 6B

Therefore,

               B=8

Hence;

          Original Length= L = B+9 =  8+9 = 17

          Original Breadth= B = 8

YOUR ANSWER

let the breadth of the given rectangle=x cm

then it's length=(x+9)cm

area of the given rectangle=[x(x+9)]

new breadth = (x+3)cm

new length =[(x+9)+3]cm = (x+12)cm

area of the new rectangle = [(x+12)(x+3)]cm

(area of the new rectangle)-(area of given rectangle)=84cm

=(x+12)(x+3)-x(x+9)=84

=(x squre+15x+36)-(x squre+9x)=84

=6x+36=84

=6x=48

=x=48/6=8

thus breadth=8cm

and length=(8+9)=17cm

Hope this will help you...
