Answer:

1.Exhaustible resources

These resources are non-renewed once exhausted.

They are non replenshable resources and finite.

Example: Iron, coal etc.

Inexhaustible resources

These are renewable or replenishable resources.

These resources have the ability to renew them in a given period of time and infinite.

Example: sunlight, water etc.

2.Renewable energy generally produces fewer carbon emissions on average than energy gained from the burning of fossil fuels. Renewable energy sources are also less disruptive to the environment. Furthermore, they are rapidly becoming cheaper than fossils fuels and renewable energy industries tend to produce more jobs, over all, than fossil fuel industries. This makes renewable energy a lucrative option for the future of the energy sector.

3.The formation of coal takes millions of years, which is why it is an exhaustible and non-renewable natural resource.

It was formed around 300 million years ago when the earth was covered with swampy forests.

When plants in these forests- mainly trees, mosses, ferns, and reeds died, they fell into the swamps.

Thus, there was a thick layer of dead vegetation in the swamp formed.

As years passed, more and more plants died and many such layers were formed, one above each other.

4.Coke is a grey, hard, and porous fuel with a high carbon content and few impurities, made by heating coal or oil in the absence of air—a destructive distillation process. It is an important industrial product, used mainly in iron ore smelting, but also as a fuel in stoves and forges when air pollution is a concern.

The unqualified term "coke" usually refers to the product derived from low-ash and low-sulphur bituminous coal by a process called coking. A similar product called petroleum coke, or pet coke, is obtained from crude oil in oil refineries. Coke may also be formed naturally by geologic processes.

5.Petroleum is formed from the remains of dead plants and animals.

When plants and animals die, they sink and settle on the seabed.

Millions of years ago, these dead wildlife and vegetation decomposed and got mixed with sand and silt.

Certain bacteria helped in the decomposition of this organic matter and caused some chemical changes.

6.One of the most obvious harms of fossil fuels is the increased global warming. Due to an alarming rate of increase in carbon dioxide, larger amounts of heat entering the atmosphere get trapped with no way of getting out, causing what is called a greenhouse effect.

8. The two important products obtained from the destructive distillation of coal are: Coal gas and coal tar. The residue left in this process is coke. Coke is used mainly as a reducing agent in the extraction of metals.

(a). Resources which can be renewed either by naturally or by human efforts are called inexhaustible resources ( renewable resources)

Resources which take million of years to form or renew are known as exhaustible resources ( non renewable resources)

(b). the advantages of renewable resources are:

i. they are always available and do not get exhausted.

ii. they save money

(c). coal was formed from plant remain got buried deep under the earth crust. over a large period of time the chemical and physical properties of these plants remain were changed through geological action that lead to the creation of coal.

(d). coke is formed by the distructive distillation of coal.

(e). petroleum is formed by the decomposition of organic matter under the earth surface.

(f). the consequences of usage of fossil fuels:

i. pollution

ii. acid rain

iii. they are inexhaustible it means that heavy usage of fossil fuels will cause then to exhaust.

(g). to conserve fossil fuels we should not waste it, we should use it in the amount that we need.

(h). the products obtained from distructive distillation of coal:

i. Coke- it is used as domestic as well as industrial fuel, it is used to extract metals etc.

ii. Coal tar- It is a black viscous liquid used in the manufacturing of drugs, perfumes, paints etc.

iii. Coal gas- it is an inflammable gas used as domestic and industrial fuel.

report it if you want!
