Answer:

Micheal drive 376 miles .

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given, Michael drove his car for 150 minutes at a constant speed of 64 miles per hour and then for another 3 hours at a constant speed of 72 miles per hour.

When Micheal drove his car for 150 minute : -

Speed of car = 64 miles / hr

Time : 150 min or 150 x 1 / 60 hr = 5 / 2 hr

======================

From the properties of speed, we know : -

\text{Speed}=\dfrac{\text{Distance}}{\text{Time}}

======================

So,

= > 64 miles / hr = Distance ( in miles ) / ( 5 / 2 ) hr

= > 64 x 5 / 2 miles = Distance

= > 32 x 5 miles = Distance

= > 160 miles = Distance

Then,

When Micheal drove his car for 3 hours : -

Speed of car = 72 miles / hr

Time : 3 hours

= > Speed = Distance / time

= > 72 miles / hr = Distance / 3 hr

= > 72 x 3 miles = Distance

= > 216 miles = Distance

Thus,

Total Distance covered by Micheal ( or Michael drive ) 216 miles + 160 miles i.e 376 miles

He drove 64 miles an hour , so 150 minutes=5/2 hours.

Now ,distance covered in 1 hour=64 miles
So, distance covered in 5/2 hours=(64×5/2)miles
=160 miles

Now, it is given that ,he drove for another 3 hours at a constant speed of 72 miles per hour.
So, distance covered in 1 hour=72 miles
•°• Distance covered in 3 hours=(72×3) miles
=216 miles

So, total distance covered=(216+160) miles
=376 miles.
