Just make 2 rectangle
CASE 1.
Length = 6 cm
Width = 2 cm
Area = length x width
= 2 x 6 = 12 cm^2
CASE 2.
Length = 3 cm
Width = 1 cm
Area = 3 cm^2
Now add cases.
12 + 3 = 15cm^2
CASE 1.
Length = 6 cm
Width = 2 cm
Area = length x width
= 2 x 6 = 12 cm^2
CASE 2.
Length = 3 cm
Width = 1 cm
Area = 3 cm^2
Now add cases.
12 + 3 = 15cm^2
