Heya!!

In a cone,

Radius of base = 5 cm

Perpendicular height = 8 cm

Then,

By pythagoras theorem ,

Slant height^2 = height^2 + radius^2

=) l^2 = 8 ^2 + 5^2

=) l^2 = 64 + 25

=) l^2 = 89

=) l = root 89

=) l = 9.43 cm

Hence, slant height = 9.43 cm

Now,

Total surface area of cone = pi*r(r+l)

= 3.14 * 5 ( 5 + 9.43 )

= 3.14 * 5 * 15.43

= 242.25 cm^2

Hope it helps uh :)
