1. The level of Carbon dioxide is increasing at an alarming rate and it is necessary to control it. This can be done by:

● Keeping check over the vehicle emission. Everyone should, on regular basis, do the pollution check of tgeir vehicles.

● by not burning wastes and reusing inorganic wastes as much as we can.

● by growing more trees and stopping deforestation.

● by using public transportation as much possible and avoiding using vehicles for a short distance.

2. (i) Veins have valves in them. The presence of valves is necessary in the veins for the unidirectional flow of blood because veins carry blood from the lower body parts to heart i.e., in the direction opposite to gravity.

(ii) Causes of hypertension:

● Eating salty food as sodium pulls out water from the body tissues into blood vessels causing the increase in volume of blood.

● Living a sedentary lifestyle and lack of excercise is also a cause for increasing blood pressure or hypertension.

Effects of Hypertension :-

● High blood pressure for a long period of time is a cause of Heart Failure.

● It also effects brain causing forgetfulness.
