F = ma
For 1st mass
5 = m₁ × 10
m₁ = 0.5 kg
For 2nd mass
5 = m₂ × 20
m₂ = 0.25 kg
When both are tied then
a = F / (m₁ + m₂)
= 5 / (0.5 + 0.25)
= 6.67 m/s²
Acceleration is 6.67 m/s²
