HEYA MATE !!

TRENDS in the modern periodic table :

Valency:

it is determined by the number of electrons in it's valence shell. It can't be stated as either increased nor decreased in a period going left to right or right to left.

Going down a group, there is no change in the valency of an element.

Atomic radius:

It decreases in moving from left to right along a period since, the more of nuclear charge makes all the shells come near the nucleus ,resulting in the decrease of the atomic radius.

The atomic size increases down the group.(reason:a new shell is added as we go down a group).

Metallic or Non-metallic character:

In a periodic table, metals are present on the left hand side,so as we go left to right in a period, the basic nature starts moving to change into acidic nature due to the Non-metals on the right side of a modern periodic table.

Metallic character decreases across a period and increases down a group.

If we consider a property of an element to be electropositive or electronegative in nature,

then,in a modern period table

it goes like,

electronegativity increase going left to right.

hope it helps

pls mark it as the brainliest answer :)

GOOD LUCK FOR UR BOARD EXAMS !
