Two rods of the same weight and equal height have different thickness. They are held vertically on a surface of sand. Which will sink more and why​​

The rod A having more area of contact compared to rod B,and the forces is same because of same weight of the rods. Therefore the rod B will exert more pressure on that area than rod A. Hence,the rod B will sink more
