x = 6y

and

x + 20 = 2(y+20)

x + 20 = 2y + 40. put x = 6y

6y -2y = 20

4y = 20

y = 5 and x = 6y = 6(5) = 30

the age of man when his child was born is 30 - 5 = 25years

HIS FATHER'S AGE BEFORE 5 YEARS =

30 - 5 = 25 years
