area of quadrilateral PQRS = area of ΔPQS+area of the ΔQSR...

therefore,

area \: of \: the \: quadrilateral \:

 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 7 \times 4 +  \frac{1}{2}  \times 7 \times 3

 = 14 + 10.5

 = 24.5 \:  {cm}^{2}

so, the area of the quadrilateral PQRS is 24.5 cm²...
