Answer:

Explanation:

(i)

Acceleration is meant by increase in velocity of the body

From graph one can see during OB velocity increased uniformly

Acceleration = Final velocity - initial velocity / change in time

                      = (40 - 0 )/ 2 = 20 km/hr^2

(ii)

Retardation is meant by decrease in velocity of the body

From graph we can say that after C velocity decreased

Retardation = Final velocity - Initial velocity / change in time

                    = ( 0 -40 )/ 2 = -20 km/hr^2

( - ) sign represents negative change in velocity

(iii)

Distance traveled during time OB

s = ut + 1/2 at^2

  = 0*2 + 1/2*20*2^2 = 40 km

Distance travelled during BC = v * t = 40*2 = 80 km

Distance traveled after C = Distance traveled during time OB  = 40 km

Total distance traveled = 40 + 80 + 40 =160 km

Hope it helps :-)
