As I opened the window I saw that it wasn’t just me, but the whole locality had been struck down by load shedding of electricity. It was at that point when I realised that neither my phone nor my laptop had ample charge to fight my boredom. It was me and the pitch darkness of the city in front of me.

Left with no choice but acceptance of the current situation, I began to wonder about the things I could do. It wasn’t totally new to me, but the idea of doing something else other than surfing my phone was totally new to me. We tend to not realise how much invested we obsessed we have become with our little gadgets, its like we have forgetting one’s own identity without it.

The day was 18th of July, 2016 and is still clearly etched in my memory. That day I had a candle light dinner with my family. That day I got to know about the daily household chores of my home. That day I got to know about the daily struggle of my dad. That day I got to know how less I contributed to the family and myself.
