Let Poorva's age be 'x'

Dhruva's age be 'y'

x+6=y---------------(1)

(x+3)/(y+3) = 4/3

Or 3x+9 = 4y+12

3x-4y=3-------(2)

Solve both the equations .

Answer:

21 year

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the present ags of Durva be 'a' and therefore age of Poorna be 'a + 6'.

After 3 years:

Age of Durva = a + 3

Age of Poorva = a + 6 + 3 = a + 9

Given, ratio of their ages becomes 4:3.

=> (a + 9)/(a + 3) = 4/3

=> 3(a + 9) = 4(a + 3)

=> 3a + 27 = 4a + 12

=> 27 - 12 = 4a - 3a

=> 15 = a

Hence, age if Poorna = a + 6 = 15 + 6 = 21 yr.
