let a=x/1-x

then 1/a=1-x/x

so

7√a+8√1/a=15

squaring both sides

we get

as we know that

(a+b)^2=a^2+b^2+2ab

so

(7√a+8√1/a)^2=225

(49a + 64/a + 2×7×8√a×1/a)=225

49a+64/a+112√1=225

49a+64/a+112-225=0

49a+64/a-113=0

multiplying both sides with a

we get

49a^2+64-113a=0

49a^2-49a-64a+64=0

49a(a-1)-64(a-1)=0

a=1

and

a=64/49

as we know

when a=1

a=x/1-x

1=x/1-x

1-x=x

x=1/2

when a=64/49

x/1-x=64/49

x=64/113
