In Order to Understand this, first of all it is required to have a little idea about Cyclic Quadrilateral .

WHAT IS A CYCLIC QUADRILATERAL ?

A quadrilateral whose all the vertices lie inside a circle circumscribing the circle is known as Cyclic Quadrilateral.

It has a unique property that the opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral is supplementary whose sum is 180 degrees.

SOLUTION :-

The opposite angle of angle 78° is

(180 - 78)°= 102°

Now,

2x = 180° - 102° [LINEAR PAIR]

=> x = 78/2

=> [x = 39°]

Similarly,

Angle opposite in linear pair to 105° = (180 - 105)°

= 75°

Angle opposite to 75° = (180-75)°=105°

Now, 3y = 105

=> y = 105/3

=> [y = 35°]
