there are four small squares each of side =14cm

Now, in each small square, we have a quadrant of radius 14 CM and a semicircle of radius 7cm

Now, required shaded region

= 4 x { area of quadrant - area of semicircle }

=4 x {1/4 x π x 14 x 14 - 1/2 x π x 7 x 7 }

= 4π {49 - 49/2 }

= 4 x 22/7 x 49/2
