red ribbon signalling the inauguration of a new restroom facility at
the Panaji bus stand.

Shri John Dias tells the media:

“This restroom facility is yet another sign that the government cares
for the people. We have received complaints from travellers,
especially those travelling to other states, that there are no
facilities for them to refresh themselves while they wait for their
buses.”

“You already know that the government is very serious about hygiene,
after all the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is successful throughout the
country. Now, with this facility, travellers will have access to clean
toilets and drinking water.”

Details about the restroom facility:

The restroom facility has been built by Sulabh Sauchalaya
International and the Goa government under public-private-partnership
(PPP). The cost of construction is approximately Rs 1 crore. It
comprises of separate pay toilets for men and women and a sitting area
with benches, fans and increased lighting. The toilets have been
equipped with water-conserving flush tanks
to ensure water
conservation. Drinking water facilities are also available as are
sockets for recharging mobile phones.​
