let, time taken by 1 men to complete the work be x and times taken by 1 boy to complete the work be y.

In 1 day men complete $\frac{1}{x}$part of work

In 1 day boy complete$\frac{1}{4}$part of work

$= > \frac{8}{x} + \frac{12}{y} = \frac{1}{10} \: and \: \frac{6}{x} + \frac{8}{y} = \frac{1}{14}$

$let \frac{1}{y} = a \: \: and \: \: \frac{1}{y} = b$

$\ 80 + 12y = \frac{d}{10} ,6a + 8b = \frac{1}{14}$

$b = \frac{1}{280} \: \: and \: \: a = \frac{1}{140}$

$so ,x = 140 \: and \: y = 280$
