We need to add,

\bf:\longrightarrow{\dfrac{7}{9}+\dfrac{1}{8}}

At first we need to make the denominators same.

LCM of 9 and 8 is 72. So,

\bf:\longrightarrow{\dfrac{7}{9}=\dfrac{7\times8}{9\times8}}

\bf:\longrightarrow{\dfrac{7\times8}{9\times8}=\dfrac{56}{72}}

\bf:\longrightarrow{\dfrac{56}{72}} ----------------- Eq. 1

\bf:\longrightarrow{\dfrac{1}{8}=\dfrac{1\times9}{8\times9}}

\bf:\longrightarrow{\dfrac{1\times9}{8\times9}=\dfrac{9}{72}}

\bf:\longrightarrow{\dfrac{9}{72}} --------------------- Eq. 2

On Adding, equation 1 and 2,

\bf:\longrightarrow{\dfrac{56}{72}+\dfrac{9}{72}}

\bf:\longrightarrow{\dfrac{64}{72}}

On reducing, we get,

\bf:\longrightarrow{\dfrac{32}{36} = \dfrac{16}{18}= \dfrac{8}{9}}

\bf:\longrightarrow{\dfrac{8}{9}}

8/9 is the final answer!!
