son = x

father = x + 30

after 12 yrs-

son = x + 12

father = x + 30 + 12 = x + 42

x + 42 = 2(x + 12)

=> x + 42 = 2x + 24

=> x = 18

present age -

• son = x = 18 yrs
• father = x + 30 = 48 yrs
