As the masses are attached to the pulley in the downward directions, so the force will be having only its horizontal component acting on them. As the wedge to which the masses are attached are in equilibrium so the horizontal component of mass m1 will be equal to the horizontal component of mass m2.

⇒ m1sin 60=m2 sin 30

Thus the ratio of the masses m1 and m2 will be

⇒ m1*root3/2=m2*1/2

⇒ root3 m1=m2

⇒ m1/m2=1/root 3
