The father's age is 5/2 times his daughter's age. eight years ago, the age of the father was four times daughter's age

To Find :-

Age of daughter

Solution :-

Let the age of daughter be a. Father age = 5/2a

Eight years ago

Age of daughter = a - 8

Age of father = 5a/2 - 8

Now

5a/2 - 8 = 4(a - 8)

5a - 16/2 = 4a - 32

5a - 16 = 2(4a - 32)

5a - 16 = 8a - 64

5a - 8a = 16 - 64

-3a = -48

a = -48/-3

a = 48/3

a = 16 years
