Carmel is making crystals of the salt potassium chloride by neutralisation.
1)How will she be able to tell when she has a neutral solution?
2)Describe how she can obtain crystals of the salt.

1) When the titration process of potassium hydroxide by hydrochloric acid has been completed and when the pink phenolphthalein indicator just turns colourless from pink or blue litmus when dipped into the solution remains blue.

2) By boiling the solution to remove the water until a super-saturated solution is obtained and then by slowly cooling the super saturated solution at room temperature and introducing a seed crystal of Potassium chloride, crystals of Potassium chloride are obtained.
