(observation stopping point 3) Ans:

1. The Cotton wool would be dry because the air between the water and the wool will act like a door and prohibit the water to come in contact with the cotton wool thus leaving it dry

2. But if the glass is tilted then the trapped air will escape, giving way to water to enter the glass. then the water will come in contact with cotton wool making it wet.

(observation stopping point 4) Ans:

1. we observe that the air exerts pressure which prohibits air to escape from the glass but as soon as the glass is tilted, it gives space to the air molecules which escape in the form of bubbles.

2. Here, the property of air which allows it to exert pressure is shown.

  • Yes the air has its role in sustaining life. it provides us with oxygen which is very essential for human life. also it hold the carbon dioxide and helps in transferring it to plants to make food. Also without air we cannot hear anything because sound travels through air.
