9 , 5 , 1 , - 3 , -7  , - 11  is  defined by the recursive formula t₁  = 9   & tₙ = tₙ₋₁   - 4  n> 1

Step-by-step explanation:

t₁  = 9

tₙ = tₙ₋₁   - 4

t₂ = t₁  - 4

=> t₂ = 9 - 4

=>  t₂ = 5

t₃ = t₂ - 4

=> t₃ = 5 - 4

=>  t₃ = 1

t₄ = t₃ - 4

=> t₄ = 1 - 4

=>  t₄ = -3

t₅ = t₄ - 4

=> t₅ = -3 - 4

=>  t₅ = -7

t₆ = t₅ - 4

=> t₆ = -7 - 4

=>  t₆ = -11

Hence

9 , 5 , 1 , - 3 , -7  , - 11 ...................
