1.) To find a central idea/thesis, look in the introductory paragraph or conclusion. For individual points, its generally in the first sentence of a body paragraph.

2.) You can make a graph with the different main points and organize them into conflicting arguments.

3.) You can use spellcheck or grammar checking systems.

4.) Depends on the information.

5.) Its a general theme, like love, hope, bravery, and so on.

6.) Most of English is based off of Greek/Latin/Roman roots. If you go into law, medicine, or science, you're going to see a lot of Latin roots.

7.) Interpret it the way you want. Look for symbolism and use context clues to help understand it.

8.) Probably means the expression of a citizen, city, or community.
