Answer

  • ∠EFD is equal to 70°

Explanation

Given

  • AB ll CD
  • AF ll ED
  • ∠AFC = 68°
  • ∠FED = 42°

To Find

  • ∠EFD = ?

Solution

When we have a pair of parallel lines then,

»» Alternate interior angles are equal

»» Alternate exterior angles are equal

»» Corresponding angles are equal

»» Co interior angles add up to 180°

»» Adjacent angles add up to 180°

»» Vertically Opposite Angles are equal

So now here we may see that,

➝ ∠AEF = ∠AFE

[Alternative angles]

➝ ∠AFE = 42°

We know that,

➝ ∠AFC + ∠AFE + ∠EFD = 180°

[Linear Pair]

➝ 68° + 42° + ∠EFD = 180°

➝ 110 + ∠EFD = 180°

➝ ∠EFD = 180° - 110°

➝ ∠EFD = 70°

Answer

∠EFD is equal to 70°

➝ ∠AFE = 42°

We know that,

➝ ∠AFC + ∠AFE + ∠EFD = 180°

[Linear Pair]

➝ 68° + 42° + ∠EFD = 180°

➝ 110 + ∠EFD = 180°

➝ ∠EFD = 180° - 110°

➝ ∠EFD = 70°
