Answer:

2 2/3 is 2 hrs and 40 mins, and he needs that exact amount to have 7 hrs. So, 7hrs-2 2/3hrs = 4 1/3hrs (4 hours and ten minutes.)

Jason has worked as a camp counselor for 4.33 hours so far.

Given:

By spending 2 and 2/3 more hours at the camp, Jason will complete a total of 7 hours of camp counseling.

To Find:

the number of hours that Jason has worked as a camp counselor so far

Solution:

we know that 1 hour = 60 minutes

⇒ 2/3 hours = 2/3 × 60

= 40 minutes

Also 2 hours = 2 × 60 = 120 minutes

and 7 hours = 7 × 60 = 420 minutes

Now, time spent by Jason in counseling = 420 - (120 + 40)

= 420 - 160

= 260 minutes

Now, 260 minutes = 260/60

= 4.33 hours.

Thus, Jason has worked as a camp counselor for 4.33 hours so far.
