A)

Need homework help? Click here.

Let a be the common accelaration of the blocks and T be the tension in the connecting rod.

=m1gsin 37+m2g sin 37

=(m1)m2)gsin 37

Frictional frces on two blocks up the inclined plane is

=μ1m1g cos 37 +μ2 m2 g os 37

=(μ1m1+μ2m2) g cos37

Net force down the plane =(m1+m2)a

(m1+m2)a=(m1+m2)g sin 37-(μ1m1+μ2m2)g cos37

putting values we get,

a=1.3 m/s^2

To find T,we write the equation of motion of block m1

T+m1g sin 37-μ1m1g cos 37=m/a

solving this we can get

T=5.2 N
