area = area \: of \: square + area \: of \: rectangle \\

(3 \times 3 ) +( 2 \times 9) \\ 9 + 18 \\ 27 \: inch

To Find:

  • Area of the given figure.

Solution:

So, first we divide this figure into 2 parts. (Refer the attachment for it)

Now we calculate the area of these two figures one by one and then add it.

AREA OF FIG(I)

=> As it is a square(both sides measure 3inches),

So,

=> Area = side*side = 3*3 = 9 inches^2

AREA OF FIG(II)

=> As it is a rectangle (one side is 9inches and other 2inches)

So,

=> Area = length*breadth = 9*2 = 18 inches^2

Now,

Area Of Complete Figure = Area of (I) + Area of (II)

Area Of Complete Figure = 9inches^2 + 18inches^2

Area Of Complete Figure = 27inches^2
