remaining = 15 - ( 2 1/4 + 3 1/2)

= 15 - 5 3/4

= 9 1 /4 m

2. total quantity = 5 L

oil remaining at end = 1 1/4 L

quantity of oil consumed = 5 - 1 1/4

= 3 (3 / 4 )

5. Original Length of jute string=15 m

Length of jute srting sold to cutomers 1 & 2

=9/4 m, 7/2 m

Therefore, Length of jute string left with shopkeeper

$= 15 - ( \frac{9}{4} + \frac{7}{2})$

$= 15 - (\frac{9 + 14}{4} )$

$= \frac{60 - 23}{4}$

$= \frac{37}{4} m$

$= 9 \frac{1}{4} m$
