1. let the two numbers be x and y.

x+y=27

x=27-y

x = y - 5

27-y = y-5

-y-y=-5+27

-2y=22

y=-11

Q1

Let the first number be x

and the other be x-5

ATQ ,.

x+x-5= 27

2x-5 =27

2x= 27+5

2x = 32

x=16

so x is the first number so the other number would x-5 that is 11

there fore the two numbers. are 11 and 16

let the unknown no. be x

ATQ

3x+10=4

3x = 10-4

3x=6

x=2

Q5

let the breadth be x

let the length be 2x

perimeter=2(l+b)

ATQ

2(x+2x)= 36

2x+4x=36

6x= 36

x= 6

so the length is 12

and the breadth is 6
