Answer:

Solution:  Draw BQ which is perpendicular to AC

then area of ΔAPQ  =

1/2×base×height = 1/2×AP×AQ

and the area of ΔABC = 1/2×AB×AC

Therefore by Thales Theorem

Area(ΔAPQ)/Area(ΔABC) =  1/2×AP×AQ/1/2×AB×AC

                           Hence Proved   =  AP×AQ/AB×AC
